TL;DR: The farm Owner turns on Farmable MCP in the Farmable Web Portal. Then install Farmable from Plugins in the ChatGPT desktop app, or add the MCP server in Codex. Sign in with your Farmable account and call Farmable in a task.

Who is this for?

Farm Owners and Managers who use Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app or the Codex CLI.

Before you start, you'll need:

a Farmable account that's the Owner or a Manager of at least one farm; and
access to Codex.

1. Turn on Farmable MCP in the Farmable Web Portal

In the Farmable Web Portal, go to Settings → Integrations, open the MCP tab and turn on Farmable MCP.

Only the farm's Owner can do this, and nobody can connect until it's on, the Owner included. It can't be turned on from Codex. If you're a Manager, ask the Owner to turn it on.

2. Add Farmable to Codex

Choose one of these:

From the plugin directory: in the ChatGPT desktop app, open Plugins, search for Farmable and select +. Codex uses the same directory as ChatGPT, so if you've already installed Farmable in ChatGPT, it's ready.
In the Codex app: go to Settings → MCP servers and select Add server. Enter Farmable as the name, choose Streamable HTTP, paste https://api.my.farmable.tech/mcp/farm as the URL, save and restart Codex.
In the Codex CLI: run codex mcp add farmable --url https://api.my.farmable.tech/mcp/farm.

3. Sign in with your Farmable account

Plugin: when asked to connect, sign in with your Farmable email and password.
Codex app: select Authenticate next to Farmable and sign in.
Codex CLI: run codex mcp login farmable and sign in in the browser window that opens. Type /mcp to check that Farmable is listed.

4. Ask your question in Codex

Type @, pick Farmable and ask your question. You can also describe the task and name your farm, and Codex calls Farmable when it needs your records.

You don't chat in Farmable itself: your questions always go in Codex.

Disconnect Farmable

Plugin: open Plugins, select Farmable and select Uninstall plugin.
Codex app: go to Settings → MCP servers and remove Farmable.
Codex CLI: run codex mcp logout farmable, then codex mcp remove farmable.

Does Farmable work in the Codex IDE extension?

The IDE extension doesn't support plugins. If you added the MCP server by URL, the extension uses the same settings as the CLI.

Can Codex change my records?

No. The connector is read-only. Keep recording work in the Farmable app.
