- Pål Audun Heyen brings 20 seasonal workers to his Norwegian fruit farm every harvest season.
- With Farmable Teams & Timesheets, he can see how productive each team is, track yield per field, and understand the profitability of his whole operation, without paper timesheets or manual calculations.
- Seasonal workers log their own hours from their phones. Team Leads can submit on behalf of workers who don't have a device. Hours export directly to payroll.
Harvest season on a fruit farm is one of the most demanding operational periods of the year. Getting the right crops off the field at the right time, with the right team, requires tight coordination, and any time spent chasing paper timesheets, reconciling hours, or hunting down productivity data is time that could be spent in the field.
Pål Audun Heyen, a fruit farm manager in Norway, brings in 20 seasonal workers every harvest. Managing their hours, tracking which teams are performing, and linking that labour data back to yield per field used to mean clipboards, manual entry, and a lot of end-of-day administration.
“We have 20 seasonal workers arriving for harvest each year. With Farmable, I know how productive each team is and can easily see yield per field. It's an essential tool for understanding the profitability of our farm.”

From clipboard to digital timesheet
Farmable Teams & Timesheets replaces paper-based timekeeping with a digital system designed specifically for orchard and fruit farm operations. Workers use a mobile punch clock to log their own hours directly from the field. Hours are automatically linked to the field and task they were working on, no re-entry required at the office.
For farms where some seasonal workers don't have smartphones, Team Leads can submit hours on their behalf. The system scales to any team size, and there is no per-user pricing, the subscription covers unlimited users.
What farm managers gain
For Pål Audun, the value is in what the data reveals. Not just hours worked, but hours worked per field, per hectare, per task, per team. Combined with harvest yield data recorded at the field level, this makes it possible to calculate labour cost per field and understand which blocks on the farm are genuinely profitable.
This kind of visibility, which plots earn money, and which are consuming resources without adequate return, is what allows serious fruit operations to make decisions about where to invest, where to improve, and where to stop.
What the system covers
Teams & Timesheets is used via the Farmable mobile app and the desktop web portal:
On mobile:
- Digital punch clock and timesheets to register hours worked
- Visualisation of hours spent per field, per hectare, and per task
On desktop:
- Team management for seasonal harvest staff
- Export of payroll data by month or week in XLS or PDF format
Getting set up before harvest
The setup process is straightforward. Before the season starts:
- Set up your farm account and draw your fields in the app
- Invite team members via Farm Settings › Manage Members
- Configure break periods and average labour costs in Time Settings
- If using harvest record-keeping alongside timesheets, configure box sizes under Farm Settings › Box Sizes
From there, your team is ready to log hours from day one of harvest.
